Welcome!
December 1, 2008
With Thanksgiving come and gone, it's a great time to remember everything that we are thankful for. Right now I am so thankful for my health and having my family all healthy again. It's truly been a blessing. I'm also thankful for the great things I was able to do this past year. Competing in figure compeitions is a passion for me and I was so happy to be able to compete again. Also, I rediscovered my love/hate relationship with running! Running races this year was a great way to challenge myself and I hope to do more next year.
So what are you thankful for? Make a list! It might be longer than you think.

Well I feel this post wouldn't be complete without a few tips for making it through the holiday season without putting on the pounds.
1. Hit the gym! I love going to the gym this time of year. Why, you may ask? Because the gyms are empty. Unforunately most people forget about thier fitness goals this time of year. Now is a great time to get in the gym and work out some of that holiday stress!
2. Carry extra healthy snacks such as almonds, fresh fruit, protien bars and shakes with you. Life around the holidays can get busy, so having a back up plan is a great way to avoid eating unhealthy foods.
3. If you find yourself attending holiday parties, take a clutch purse to carry in one hand and carry a water in the other hand. This way your hands are full and won't be able to pick at the food trays! (Great tip from Oxygen magazine.)
4. Shop, shop, shop! I can't think of a better way to get exercise than roaming the mall for the perfect gift!
5. Enjoy yourself! Remember this time of year is a special time to spend with your family and friends. Restricting yourself during the holidays will not make an enjoyable experience for you or those around you. Celebrate this time of year. After all, you know that when the holiday season is over you will be back on track to meet your fitness goals!
